The car takes I-74 northwest out of the city's west side, crosses into Indiana near Harrison, and runs past Batesville, Greensburg and Shelbyville before meeting I-465 on the southeast side of Indianapolis. From the beltway it is a short run into downtown, or around to the airport on the southwest side. In normal traffic the trip is roughly two hours. Pickups in West Chester or Mason usually reach I-74 by way of I-275 west.

Pickups in the eastern suburbs cross town first on I-275 or the Norwood Lateral, so build that into the ready time. On convention and game days, a hotel entrance is usually an easier drop than the venue curb.
